Wood shed.

Anne went for a 20 mile run today with support from friends on bikes, so I stayed home and unearthed some tin roofing sheets from the back of the garage. They are really rusty so I cut out the good stuff and took the rest to the tip,on the way back I picked up some wood and food shopping ,made lunch in time for the girls arriving back, then started to turn the wood and roof tin into a wood shed. After cutting back the jungle I leveled a 20 foot long section and put down some pallets dug in 6 tannalised fence posts screwed on some 3x2and started to screw the tin on before it was time for dinner and bath time. Will finish in the morning and then fill it with wood.
Going to spray the wood containing termites with orange oil/water to make sure they die.

Splitting logs

Spent the day splitting logs with a gas powered splitter.Lots of termites in some of the wood which should die as the wood dries, hope they leave some wood to burn.Found some big grubs the size of my thumb in some of the rotten wood.

Wood work in the attic.

Been working in the attic for two days getting ready for the new wiring I'm going to put in. I'm making some walkways two foot above the ceilings to run the cable on and to get around on after the insulation is put in.I need to get a move on because its starting to get very warm in the attic and it will not be long before its unbearable.

Been looking on the Internet to identify some spring flowers. The shrub in front yard with the blousey white flowers is Magnolia Royal Star. Found some Narcissus at an old house site on State road 430.

The weeds.

The weeds here are scary and if left unchecked will destroy a house in a very short time. The bitter cress in the garden has already set seed so we are pulling up as much as we can.

After we cut down some dead trees the deer came to see what was going on.

The wee Beasties

I seem to be a annoyance to more than Terry the tortoise and the Vultures.

Today a pair of falcons arrived back at their nest and were not too happy I was out in their Garden.

Several Lizards weren't best pleased when I tore down some Ivy from the trees on the road side.
I guess I'll have to garden as sympathetically as I can.

Cooking Youth hostel Style.

It's a bit like living in a Youth hostel its cold, badly lit and impractical.
